5th Bali & Beyond Travel Fair 2018

 

This year BBTF 2018 hosted 320 buyers and trade buyers from 41 countries, which  consistd of 61 domestic buyers hosted by Garuda Indonesia, 10 buyers from Timor Leste and Uzbekistan.

To meet the expectation from the government, we are delighted to report that this year the sellers participation from 5 countries; Timor Leste, Thailand, Cambodia, Uzbekistan and of course Indonesia- with the total registered 241 sellers from 5 stars hotel operators, management groups, travel agents and regency’s representatives.

This means that BBTF 2018 performance and statistic has progressing well, with 60,80% increase of buyers and 28,19% increase of sellers to compare with buyers and sellers in 2017 - to reach for a total transaction forecast of $593,310,000 or 7,71 trillion IDR.

As stated by the Deputy Minister for Marketing1, Ministry of Indonesia Prof. Pitana “BBTF outlines the commitment of the government to put Tourism as the backbone of economy in many new desnations in Indonesia”  Bali as the hub for show case, the attention are directed to 4 new destinations as priority. They are Mandalika in Lombok Island, Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Borobudur in Central Java, Komodo Labuan Bajo in Flores ready with infrastructure, accesibility,attractions, ammenities plus human resources”.

“BALI & BEYOND TRAVEL FAIR 2018 is proud to take part in the growth of tourism in Indonesia and be recognized as Indonesia’s leading International Travel Fair. We have chosen the theme Exploring the Colours of Indonesia for this year’s event because we believe in Indonesia’s potential as Bali as the market place” I Ketut Ardana, the chairman of BBTF shared his thoughts.

 

BBTF represents the full spectrum of tourism at all levels including the hospitality sector, tour operators or travel agencies, National Tourism Organizations, Convention and Visitors Bureaus, travel technology firms, MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) and corporate travel representatives as well as regional’s new destinations.

 

“The success of Bali & Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) since being launched represents the Penta-helix synergy that we are working on. Bali as the Hub and platform to promote or show case other destinations. Ministry of Tourism support BBTF, with its outstanding track record and proven performance as Indonesia’s leading international travel fair.” he added.

 

From the side of digital tourism; the trends of technology that are growing very rapidly nowadays are believed will give a big influence in the world of tourism Indonesia in the future. As an effort to keep pace with the development of the current digital era, BBTTF to use the registration, database and attendance in Cloud-based system so that all participants, both buyers and sellers, can conduct business transactions according to their schedule. From the final report on this system is expected to help BBTF in filtering and determine the market segment of the coming year, so it can be ascertained that the BBTF in 2019 will be more organized in a systematic and very sophisticated way.

 

Badung has shown commitment to be the co-host for 2019. “We have show case and develop home stay village tourism program at the Kampung Pavilion integrated with other provinces as one. With the increasing desire of tourists from abroad especially, who want to feel the life in the middle of rural Bali, we see big potentials in Nomadic tourism, nature-based tourism, spiritual and wellness tourism up to modern and luxury tourism”. All set in each uninqe way.

 

“Natural disaster such as Mt. Agung situation has been handled in calm and strategic manners – by activating Bali Tourism Hospitality or act as Crisis Centre Ministry of Tourism, we are here to collaborate with all stakeholders to make sure that all passagers that possibly stranded at the airport are treated in the most hospitality way as much as possible. Overland trip to Surabaya airport or Lombok airport  should be handled proffesionaly. Communication system in place to make sure all updated based on facts.” I Made Badra the head of Tourism Badung Regency added.

 

“BBTF 2018 has just been completed successfully at this prestigious leading convention and exhibition Centre from 26-30 June 2018 – BNDCC the Nusa Dua Bali “Rob Haynes from Red Tree UK added to represent International buyers. “ we are happy and confident to come back with more buyers – as we believe in friendship and network”. He added.

 

Next year 6th BBTF 2019 will held on 25-29 June 2019 at the same place BNDCC the Nusa Dua – “ ITDC is ready to support and invite more partners from Nusa Dua Hotels operators and managements to join” – we will not only go digital but apply more applications to promote more destinations” Mr Abdulbar M. Mansoer, President Director of ITDC stated the commitment. “ Mandalika will be the post tour – by next year we are ready to show care other destiantions for promotions”.

 

About BBTF 2018

BBTF is an annual event with the intention to establish a benchmark for travel & tourism events and destinations in Indonesia.  Supported by the Ministry of Tourism Indonesia, BBTF held a B2B event and aims to advance the tourism industry through business sessions and direct promotion of best practices in MICE and Leisure management.

 

Together with exhibitors and buyers from numerous countries around the world, BBTF facilitates Pre-Scheduled Appointments (PSA) and business sessions for buyers and sellers to negotiate on their long-term leisure and corporate travel needs. Corporations, travel agents, hotel & resort chains, cruise operators, convention planners, venue operators and travel buyers can leverage the two and half days of business to business sessions to enhance their respective brands in the Indonesian and Asia Pacific markets.

 

In addition to the B2B sessions, the travel fair will have an extensive program of activities for all delegates. From the fantastic networking events, to the inspirational knowledge program, the business of meetings has never been so rewarding. Bali was chosen as the venue because it is the gateway to Indonesia’s Archipelago for global travelers and the island contributes up to 40% of all visitors to the nation each year.
